DIY Cornstarch Glass Floral Hearts — Beautiful, Easy, and Almost Free

No resin. No special equipment. Just 3 ingredients from your kitchen.

Why Everyone Is Making These

These stunning floral hearts look like expensive resin jewelry or decorative pieces — but they’re made with cornstarch, glue, and water. No toxic resin, no UV lamp, no expensive supplies. Just things you already have at home and flowers from your garden.

Perfect as gifts, home décor, or a fun craft with kids.

What You Need

  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup Elmer’s clear glue (or any clear PVA glue)
  • ¾ cup water
  • Fresh or dried flowers — small ones work best
  • Silicone mold — heart shapes or any shape you like

How to Make Them

Step 1 — Mix the base
Combine cornstarch, clear glue, and water in a small saucepan. Stir until smooth with no lumps.

Step 2 — Heat gently
Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, for about 5–8 minutes until the mixture thickens into a translucent, gel-like consistency. It should coat the back of a spoon and look slightly clear.

Step 3 — Arrange your flowers
Place small flowers face-down into the bottom of your silicone mold. Press them flat — they’ll show through the front when finished.

Step 4 — Pour
Carefully pour the warm mixture over the flowers, filling each mold cavity. Tap the mold gently to release any air bubbles.

Step 5 — Dry completely
Leave to dry at room temperature for 24–48 hours. Don’t rush this — the longer they dry, the clearer and more glass-like they become.

Step 6 — Unmold
Gently flex the silicone mold to pop them out. They should be firm, clear, and beautiful.
