Big Brother 24 Episode 12 Recap: Psychedelic Slop and Stupid Plays
Written by adrina

I’m not sure what was more embarrassing on this episode of Big Brother 24 — the goofy veto contest that had players taking fake acid trips, or the stupid play Daniel made that will ensure his best boyfriend goes behind the door this week.

It kicks off Wednesday night, right after Monte nominated Indy and Alyssa for the eviction. Monte lets us know that he nominated them because they are the only couple not to include a member of the Leftovers alliance. But he still has his sights set on Nicole, so Nicole could be in trouble if things go well and Taylor is okay again.

Nicole is glad she’s off the block, but she doesn’t feel safe. She says she can only trust Daniel and wouldn’t be shocked if she was the backdoor plan this week.

Meanwhile, Michael, Brittany and Taylor form a sub-alliance. Michael tells us he wants to take Taylor and Brittany to the end.

Daniel decides to talk to Monte about what he’s thinking this week. Monte keeps up the Taylor as a target charade. But Daniel is a little suspicious after Ameerah’s blindside. So he says he can’t let that happen to Nicole this week.

Elsewhere, Taylor, Michael and Kyle talk about how awesome it would be if Daniel won the veto and used it and he was the reason his best friend went home. Taylor says it would be sweet revenge.

Daniel tells Nicole that he really wants to win a veto and doesn’t want to use it. He says his priority is protecting his Final 2.

So it will again come down to the veto. So who will be playing this week? It’s time for the veto to find out. Monte, Joseph, Terrance, Indy and Alyssa are actually joined by Daniel and Kyle.

And it turns out Daniel and Nicole aren’t the only ones who want the nominees to stay the same. Brittany knows that she and Michael are the most vulnerable of The Leftovers since they don’t have a non-member with them. So if the nouns stay the same, they can send Alyssa home and get Indy to join them as a shield. And since Taylor is all in with the two, she says she can put off her Nicole revenge for another week.

But before anything can happen or not, the veto has to be used. So let’s go for it and find out what happens.

For this week’s Power of Veto contest, one (or two) players from each team must pretend to trip on psychedelic slop, watch a weird cartoon video of themselves, and then relay that information to the other player, who then do so must answer a series of questions based on what they have been told about the journey. The team with the most correct answers wins the right of veto.

Joseph and Terrance made the trip for their team while Daniel and Alyssa made the trip for their team. Monte, Kyle and Indy decided to answer the questions.

The results

Round 1: Kyle and Indy get one point each.
Round 2: Everyone gets a point.
Round 3: Kyle gets a point.
Round 4: Kyle and Indy get points.
Last round: Everyone gets it right.

This means Kyle and Daniel win the veto.

And Daniel realizes that Kyle wants to veto Alyssa. And it apparently only takes one beast to switch nominees.

Speaking of which, Michael decides to mention to the rest of the alliance that he and Brittany don’t have a shield, so keeping the nominations the same will keep their alliance stronger. Monte agrees that if Indy joined Michael and Brittany, they would be 100 percent protected next week. So the leftovers tend not to use the veto. But how can they convince Kyle not to use it?

Kyle joins the others and they give him the pitch. He understands the plan but says it would be hard for him not to save Alyssa for moral reasons. You really make Kyle realize that this is the way to really protect the Alliance.

So Monte goes to Daniel and Nicole to make sure Daniel hasn’t decided to use the power of veto. Monte tells them he’s more certain of how the votes will turn out if the nominees stay the same. When he puts Taylor and Nicole on the block, he’s not sure where the votes would fall and Nicole could go home. He says he doesn’t want that.

Daniel and Nicole think Monte realizes he doesn’t have the votes to get Nicole out this week, so he doesn’t want the veto used so he can save Taylor. This makes her think that now is her chance to get Taylor out, so Nicole may be fine with Daniel using the veto.

Daniel goes to Kyle and says it’s ridiculous how Monte is trying to stop her from using the veto now and he knows exactly why. So he tells Kyle that he will veto it even if Kyle doesn’t.

Kyle lets us know that not only will Daniel help him save Alyssa, but he’ll also make sure Daniel’s own in-game best friend comes behind the door this week. That might be one of the dumbest moves ever, adds Kyle.

At the veto meeting, Daniel decides to use the power of veto. Indy and Alyssa come down and Nicole and Taylor go up.
