- At today’s NJPW Battle Autumn Tour show, Hikuleo cut a promo saying he beat Karl Anderson for the NEVER Openweight Championship and doesn’t want Anderson to vacate the title. NJPW has issued a statement that Anderson will be stripped of the title if he fails to defend it against Hikuleo on November 5 in Osaka.
- Anderson replied Hikuleo on Twitter: “I don’t clean up anything. I’m the greatest #NeverOpenweightChampion of all time. I will defend it on my time…..get it from my booking agent [Luke Gallows]. See you then @Hiku_Leo. This is #TooSweet”
- Douki missed tonight’s NJPW show due to a fever. His COVID-19 test was negative, but he was not cleared to compete out of caution.
- The New York Post has an interview with Jay White.
- During her appearance on the Swerve City podcast, Britt Baker revealed the “great advice” she received from Charlotte Flair on how to deal with online criticism: “Back to Charlotte, she and I have been talking and she gave me so many great ones Advice given only to get through this. She gave me some solid advice to just stay true to what you know to be true. Don’t worry about the stories the fans are creating or what they want to believe to be true because you know what’s going on and what you’re working with. She was fantastic to me.”
- Wardlow named Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson as individuals leading the AEW dressing room:
- Everyone backstage did such a great job of communicating and we’ve been through it all honestly, you know, you said chaos… luckily it’s made us so much closer inside and I feel like we’ve been through it all Things have happened, these last few months have really changed the dressing room and we have really, really positive leadership. boys like [Chris] Jericho and [Jon] Moxley and Bryan Danielson, they are true leaders and very passionate and they have done such a great job in getting the dressing room together and on the same page and getting our company on the right track.
- Yes absolutely [it feels like a cohesive unit again]… We talked about this recently. I really feel like our locker room is as cramped as it was a few years ago when we started because when we started we all had the same mission, we were family and then we survived COVID together where we spent more have time together as our families.
- Today is CM Punk’s 44th birthday.
- The Daily Mail published photos of Zac Efron on the set of The Iron Claw. Efron plays Kevin Von Erich in the Von Erich family biopic.
- Laredo Kid tore his intestines while wrestling at a Lucha Libre AAA event over the weekend. It was announced on Monday that Laredo Kid had undergone emergency surgery for the injury.
- Last night’s episode “Tales from the Territories,” about Florida championship wrestling, averaged 101,000 views on Vice TV. The rating in the 18-49 demo was 0.02.
