This year’s edition of WWE’s Biggest Party of the Summer will be the company’s first pay-per-view since Vince McMahon retired.
SummerSlam is taking place tonight at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The PPV is led by Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
WWE is promoting this as the very last encounter between Reigns and Lesnar. A money-in-the-bank cash-in may also flow into the match, with Theory promising to redeem whoever wins.
Theory will also challenge Bobby Lashley for the US title tonight. In other title matches, Bianca Belair will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey will challenge Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and fight The Usos and Street Profits for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. In his hometown of Nashville, Jeff Jarrett will be the special guest referee for the tag title fight.
Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin, Logan Paul vs. The Miz, and a No-DQ match between The Mysterios and The Judgment Day are also scheduled for SummerSlam.
Today’s PPV begins at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. There will also be a pre-show starting at 7 p.m. Eastern.

KICK OFF SHOW
The panel was hosted by Kayla Braxton, Jerry Lawler, Booker T, Kevin Patrick and Peter Rosenberg. They ran down the map.
(As usual, I don’t plan to summarize the entire pre-show, just whatever seems noteworthy.)
Lawler and Booker buried Pat McAfee because he’s not real wrestler Sports entertainers like Baron Corbin. One of the other panelists suggested that Lawler should confront McAfee if he felt so little about him, and Lawler agreed.
Theory explained his plan to Sarah Schreiber again (again) and was very confident.
Titus O’Neil presented WWE Title Belts to Meals of Hope, PENCIL and Musicians on Call and announced that each charity would receive $20,000.
The person in the cryptic videos will appear tonight.

You’re in an open-air stadium, so the show starts in full daylight.
Bianca Belair def. Becky Lynch to win the Raw Women’s Championship (15:10)
Lynch worked Belair’s arm early, but she came back with a glam slam and a standing moonsault for two. Belair attempted to KOD Lynch on the barricade, but Lynch landed on her feet, yanking Belair into the barricade and throwing a leg at her.
Lynch hit a leg drop as Belair was draped over the ropes, but Belair countered a second attempt with a powerbomb. Belair hit another glam slam, this time to the edge of the ring. Lynch attempted to use Belair’s pigtail, but Belair yanked her into the ring post with it, hitting a vertical suplex on the outside. Belair followed up with a moonsault for two.
Lynch attempted a crossbody but Belair caught her. She couldn’t continue because of her injured arm, so Lynch followed with Diamond Dust (a cutter) for two. They traded counters until Belair hit, which was basically a flapjack. Lynch attempted a disarmer, but Belair rolled outward while pinning Lynch. Belair gave Lynch a KOD from the outside but couldn’t pull her in the ring.
Belair didn’t want to win by countout but seemed to think it was inevitable, but Lynch narrowly beat the ten. They battled on the top rope until Lynch pulled Belair down by her braid and hit a man handle slam for a close nearfall.
Lynch went for a man-handle slam from the middle rope, but Belair countered with a Spanish fly. She followed immediately with an emphatic KOD for the pinfall win. Good match with a great finish.
— Lynch offered Belair a handshake after the match. Belair shook her hand and they hugged.
Bayley entered as Belair was celebrating. The crowd was huge.
Bayley stopped at ringside and Dakota Kai entered. Corey Graves freaked out because he didn’t think Kai was signed. Kai joined Bayley at ringside when Io Shirai also registered.
Bayley, Kai and Shirai entered the ring together to confront Belair. Lynch joined Belair and the trio withdrew. That was really good.
(I think Shirai’s graphic said “Io Shirai” and Jimmy Smith definitely called her that, but Graves called her “Io Sky.”)
