American Horror Story spoilers to follow.
twelve seasons in, American Horror Story has become an institution. A sick, rotten, extremely crappy institution, but an important one nonetheless. In fact, it’s hard to imagine the television landscape without her, or any of the other Ryan Murphy-fuelled nightmares that followed.
Fortunately, we don’t have to imagine that, because FX was already renewed in January 2020 American Horror Story for three more seasons that will take us to a total of 13 chapters.
When the announcement was first made, FX Chairman John Landgraf proudly declared, “Ryan and Brad [Fulchuk] are the undisputed masters of horror television with which they have created the anthological limited series American Horror Story and to maintain its success as FX’s top-rated series for nearly a decade.”
But does that mean the show could end with season 13? Maybe, but let’s not worry too much about that for now as we still have many sleepless nights to look forward to when Season 12 hits our screens.
Grab your pointy witch hat and yell “Balenciagaaaa” as we delve deep into Ryan Murphy’s twisted mind and reveal everything you need to know American Horror Story season 12
American Horror Story Season 12: what is the possible release date?
American Horror Story is surprisingly reliable when it comes to scheduling appointments. Aside from the tenth season, which was delayed by a year due to real-world scares like COVID, every other season aired in September or October, with just a year between launches.
If we knew that, we would expect to see it American Horror Story Season 12 will be released in October or possibly even September 2023.
American Horror Story Season 12: Who is in the cast?
As everyone knows by now American Horror Story Actors rarely appear in just one season. On Ryan Murphy’s flagship show, the same cast often changes between seasons and even on other shows of his.
However, mainstays like Jessica Lange and Evan Peters aren’t appearing as regularly as they used to, and even the usually reliable Sarah Paulson has now missed a few seasons too.
In August 2022, the one true Supreme told diversity that she might never come back American Horror Story sometime soon:
“It’s not that I’m not open to it,” Paulson said. “I’m always open to it, but I feel like I’ve been doing it for a long time, and maybe people in this world will get sick of me.
“Let someone else scream and run and cry for a second,” she added. “Other people can do it too! Also my nervous system. There was a time when I was younger when I was like, ‘I can do this all night. I love it!’ Now I’m like, ‘Mom’s tired!’”
When Digital Spy spoke to OG star Taissa Farmiga in early 2022, she teased a possible return sometime later:
“It’s such a difficult question to answer because American Horror Story is just a part of me,” Taissa said. “I played Violet when I was 17, when I first started acting, and I discovered myself. So whenever someone mentions it horror storyit’s like, ‘Ah, it’s a little bit home.’
“It’s like a matter of timing,” added Farmiga. “I know there were talks before, but then I filmed about it, and Covid, and the travel and all these protocols. So yeah, I can never say no when it’s the right time and opportunity. And it’s like, sure, the cameo idea is fun because we can walk in and meet up and say, “Hey, it’s me.”
“But then there’s the fact that I’m still best friends with some of the hair and makeup people and the crew. You hear them talking about the show. And I say, ‘But I miss it.’ It’s a fun mix of all those feelings, you know?”
American Horror Story Season 12: what will the plot be?
Every year the only thing that’s halfway decent American Horror Story Fan is concerned, what will be the next topic? And as usual, Ryan Murphy’s team is keeping all information about it extremely tight – assuming they’ve even decided where Season 12 might go.
With that in mind, for now we can only look back at past rumors and untapped ideas in hopes of getting some information on what’s to come.
Previously, there was talk of cryptids taking center stage, or maybe even another reunion season like the crossover we saw Apocalypsesirens could be coming into play soon.
Back in April 2021, Murphy opened things up with a now-deleted poll to ask fans what topic they’d like to see next. Options included Aliens, Christmas Horror, Bloody Mary, Piggy Man, Sirens, and Plague.
Aliens had a memorable role in season ten, so they’re out, and Bloody Mary starred in an entire episode dedicated to her American Horror Stories Season two, so she won’t be back either. One could argue that the plague or something like that is also taken into account new York Also known as Season 11.
Based on what’s left, sirens might be the way to go then. Or maybe season two’s murderous Santa could jump down the chimney again for another round of Christmas horror.
