Law and order: SVU Star Mariska Hargitay is devastated to see her friend Kelli Giddish quit as Detective Amanda Rollins.
After 11 years in the role, Giddish is headed for new pastures, but she made quite an impression on Hargitay, who spoke to her ET Canada lately.
“Oh god, Kelly. I love Kelli, she’s my girl. She’s one of my favorite actresses that I’ve ever worked with and we need to build something really beautiful together and really earn something together because our characters have been through quite a journey.” She said.

“It wasn’t that easy at first and then we just fell into this beautiful security, trust. That was hard. I’ll miss that because she was my go-to, my right-hand man, the woman I could talk to too.
“Olivia Benson is out there taking care of everyone else and she was someone who really cared about me and had my back. Also, if Fin is behind me and Stabler is behind me, it’s different when a woman is behind you because it’s a different perspective.
“I will miss her very much but she is a lifelong friend and I’m just glad our paths crossed and I know they will continue to cross.”

Last week, CSR Head writer Julie Martin teased a blossoming romance between Benson and Stabler ahead of the crossover special.
“I think what you’re definitely going to see in the film (premier) is that they have a great, great working relationship and they fall into that simple partnership, camaraderie and partnership, kind of knowing what the other person is thinking,” she said.
“It’s fun to see her back in that capacity.”
Law and order: SVU is broadcast on Thursdays ABC in the USA. The show continues sky witness in the UK, with select episodes available NOW.
