Katy Perry suffered an ‘eye defect’ in the middle of the concert – and now fans are worried the pop superstar might actually be a robot.
During a recent performance of her “Play” residency in Las Vegas, Perry seemed unable to keep her right eye open.
She even pressed a finger against her temple to keep her eyelid from drooping.
Eventually, the entertainer managed to lift her eyelid – and continued to keep both eyes wide open for a few moments.
She then blinked before prompting the concert-goers to make some noise for her band.
The odd depiction – which has gone viral on social media – drew reactions from KatyCats ranging from worried to amused.
“Your clone was defective. This is scary π³,” one person wrote in a TikTok comment, while another added, “Your robot seems to have a lot of glitches.”
“This bitch is a robot we already knew about,” another jokingly claimed. “Katy Parry [sic] is a mf robot hahaha,β commented another.
Meanwhile, someone else opined, “It wasn’t the eye thing that was weird, it was the fact that she pretended it didn’t happen and went on with the show…”
Many others found the moment rather funny.
“That baby doll you had as a kid with the eye that kept closing,” one person joked on TikTok, while another mused, “She lost the wifi connection π.”
Another fan likened Perry’s wobbly eye to that of a “Disney animatronic after about 10 years.”
Comments are pouring in about the “Roar” singer’s “breakdown” as she celebrates her 38th birthday.
Perry ushered in a new year on Tuesday, which her partner Orlando Bloom honored in a sweet Instagram tribute.
“Every time we take a trip around the sun and celebrate you, I’m reminded that on this journey together and whatever the weather, I’m always smiling πβ€οΈπ,” the 45-year-old actor captioned a selfie of the couple.
Perry and Bloom got engaged in 2019 after three years of dating. They share 2-year-old daughter Daisy.
