Google recently released the Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3 with its new features and fixes for its Pixel devices. The firmware is available with build version T1B3.221003.003 and promises to improve the overall functionality of the device.
Concerned about the new beta update, the company has released a feedback survey for its Pixel smartphone users. Finally, Google tries to ask whether Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3 and its features have met users’ expectations or not.
While many users have already submitted the feedback form, some users are still wondering what’s new in the beta update for their Pixel devices.
Let me tell you that this time there are no new features in the changelog. Instead, the company has addressed some internal issues and provided effective fixes for them in the Android 13 beta firmware.
A detailed view of the changelog is below.
Issues reported by developers and users
- Fixed an issue for some devices where the screen unlock UI would appear over notifications and other lock screen content.
Other resolved issues
- Fixed an issue that prevented the rotate camera for selfie gesture from working on some devices.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the screen to go blank while trying to unlock a device.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented a device from being unlocked with either Face Unlock or Fingerprint Unlock if the device was idle for several hours.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes caused full-screen video playback to flicker after enabling always-on display features and locking the screen.
The feedback asks for your experiences in thirteen aspects. For example, stability, performance, battery, device temperature, camera, Bluetooth, call quality, messaging, Wi-Fi connectivity, data connectivity, app experience, authentication, and charging capabilities.
In general, all of these terms refer to the Android 13 Beta 3 fixes. After that, the survey application will ask if you want to see this release as a stable build. In addition, you have the opportunity to add your experiences in the additional feedback section.
Is it worth upgrading to Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3?
The Beta 3 package features a handful of reflective fixes. Maybe I don’t feel like you want to see this firmware as a stable build. Why? I can say that because some users are facing severe problems after installing respective beta pack on their Pixel phones.
Ironically, these issues appeared in the same system where the company has already fixed them. For example, the company repaired the camera system, but one user complained that the image quality dropped sharply at night.
Another major issue has emerged in the battery segment. According to the reports, users are constantly facing extreme battery drain after installing the latest Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3 update. There are more problems, although these have remained common.
Aside from such issues, one user questioned the Bluetooth instability. Consequently, when connecting the earbuds to the Pixel 6 Pro device, the user experienced disconnects in the connection.
After going through reports like this, I have to think twice before installing the new beta rollout. However, few devices may encounter such problems. But taking a chance and making the phone’s condition worse is not my thing.
Pixel users, what do you think of the new beta update? Are the latest Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3 features and fixes good for your device? Or did you expect more efficient supplements? Let us know your reviews in the comments section.
