“We had always planned a public statement … but with speculation rapidly accelerating, we knew we couldn’t wait any longer.”
It’s been a difficult time for The Try Guys after a cheating scandal shook the popular YouTube group to its core and led to the firing of co-founder Ned Fulmer.
The remaining three members — Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld and Eugene Lee Yang — had previously confirmed Fulmer’s expulsion from the group in late September amid swirling internet speculation. Now they have released a full video statement.

The trio explain what happened to Fulmer when he was officially removed from the company they founded in 2018 following their split from Buzzfeed and how he will be removed from their content and digital presence.
They also explained how they intend to proceed. The video was well organized, but it was also clearly an emotional moment for the threesome, with Eugene at one point expressing frustration or outright anger when discussing their shock.
Ned was filmed kissing a producer working on the show. He admitted the incident and called it consensual. “Family should have always been my priority, but I lost focus and had a consensual relationship at work,” he said in a statement released Sept. 27.
“I’m sorry for any pain my actions have caused the boys and the fans, but most of all Ariel. The only thing that matters right now is my marriage and my kids and that’s what I’m going to focus my attention on.”
According to TMZ, Ned and his wife Ariel “appear to be working to work things out in their marriage.” They were spotted together and are both still wearing their wedding rings. But while things may be working out at home, Ned is definitely done at 2nd Try LLC… and has been for quite a while.

The scandal was only recently confirmed publicly, but speculation has been going on since Labor Day weekend. According to the new video posted by the remaining trio, Ned was removed from their joint company on Friday September 16th.
In the five-minute video, the guys offered transparency without being able to share every detail due to “some legal issues that we need to consider as we go through it all”.
They shared that Ned immediately acknowledged the speculation was true and that the apparent romantic situation between him and her producer “has been going on for some time.” Eugene shared that as a company, they took action immediately and are “involving employment lawyers, corporate counsel, human resources, PR and more to ensure we are taking all necessary steps.”
“From the start, we realized how much this contradicts the values of the company we’ve built and those of everyone who works here,” he continued. “It’s something we took very seriously. We refused to sweep things under the rug. That’s not who we are and what we stand for.”

He further explained that while they are still working on an official public statement, amid growing online speculation, they felt the need to react now, which is why this video was released.
“We were obviously incredibly shocked and deeply hurt by all of this,” he said, speaking of the eight years they worked together and getting visibly emotional. “We are sad, not only personally, but also on behalf of our employees and our fans who believed in us.”
“I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to fully articulate the pain we’re feeling in this moment,” Zach added. “We lose a friend, we lose someone we built a business with, we have countless memories with … I’m sure many of you feel the same way. It is strange. We are sorry that this ever happened and we don’t know what else to stay.”
They also acknowledged online comments about apparent changes made to the existing content on their site. Fans have noticed that it looks like Ned has been removed from older videos. According to the guys, that’s exactly what they did.
They “removed his sections from videos, digitally removed him from others” and some other videos they deemed “completely unreleaseable.” “You’ll never see her and that’s because of his involvement,” Zach explained. “And that’s a decision that cost us a lot of money. We won’t be able to recoup that money, but it’s a decision we’re proud of.”

As for things going in the future, the guys admitted that everything is still a work in progress, but they offered some information.
There are videos on the line that were filmed before Ned was removed from the company. “But we’re going to cut out Ned,” Keith said. They are currently working with editors to find “creative solutions” to the footage already shot for the new season of their Without a Recipe series.
“And we also have some branded videos that we’ve already committed to,” Keith noted. “So if you see a video that’s sponsored in a couple of weeks and you’re like, oh, that’s kind of weird, well, yeah, it’s kind of weird. It’s just the way things are and that’s why.”
“Things are going to change here,” Zach said, adding that he hopes this will be an opportunity for “positive growth.” “But it will be difficult,” he added. “This whole thing is getting really f—— hard.”
Keith said the group understands there are likely still a lot of questions and they plan to talk more about them, but for now their focus is on “delivering the best content possible by the end of the year.”
When 2023 arrives, they’ll pause and work to “figure out what the future of this channel is.”
