Brad Pitt “will not own anything he hasn’t done,” his attorney says, after Angelina Jolie, the actor’s ex-wife, made further allegations of abuse.
Pitt’s attorney, Anne Kiley, told Page Six on Thursday, “Brad has owned everything he is responsible for from day one – unlike the other side.
“He will not own anything that he has not done,” the statement continued. “He was on the receiving end of all kinds of personal attacks and misrepresentations.”
Kiley continued, “Thankfully, the various authorities that the other side have tried to use against him over the past six years have made their own independent decisions. Brad will continue to respond in court as he always has.”
Jolie accused Pitt of suffocating one of her six children on board a private jet in September 2016 in court documents filed Tuesday.
In a counterclaim obtained by Page Six, the 47-year-old “Maleficent” actress detailed what allegedly happened during the now infamous flight that prompted her to file for divorce.
The filing claimed that the Fight Club star, 58, “choked one of the kids … punched another in the face” and “grabbed Jolie’s head and shook her.”
Jolie also claimed that Pitt poured her beer, as well as her children’s beer and wine.
The actress allegedly attempted to intervene at one point and “grabbed” her then-husband from behind to try to stop him, the filing claimed.
“In order to lift Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane seats, injuring Jolie’s back and elbow,” the documents read.
“The children rushed in and everyone tried valiantly to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and punched another in the face. Some of the children begged Pitt to stop. They were all afraid. Many cried.”
The former couple, who married in August 2014, have six children together: Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 14. They have been one child since their split in 2016 bitter custody dispute over their minor children.
Pitt was under investigation by the FBI for alleged child molestation over the inflight incident.
However, authorities have not pursued criminal charges against the ‘Bullet Train’ star, who revealed in September 2019 that he is sober.
According to documents previously obtained by Page Six, a representative of the United States Attorney’s Office, based on discussions with the case officer, has concluded not to prosecute Pitt.
“All parties agreed that no criminal charges will be filed in this case due to a number of factors,” the notes said.
A source close to the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star told us in August that “Angelina and her team were trying desperately to find something,” adding, “This is all for show. This is all information that she already had five and a half years ago. There is nothing new here.”
Aside from that, in the new counterindictment, Jolie’s attorneys alleged that the FBI agent investigating the allegations had “probable cause to charge Pitt with a federal crime because of his conduct that day.”
Tuesday’s countersuit was filed in response to a lawsuit Pitt filed months earlier against Jolie over the sale of her stake in her French chateau, where they were married.
The “Moneyball” star claimed in the previous filing that neither would sell their stake in Château Miraval and its profitable vineyard without the consent of the other.
According to the documents, Jolie’s counterclaim “requested the court to confirm that no such ‘consent agreement’ existed.”
The Salt star also claimed in the filing that Pitt “required that she sign a non-disclosure agreement that would have contractually barred her from speaking outside of court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and her children.”
Because Jolie reportedly “refused to agree to any such stipulation … Pitt backed out of the deal,” the documents state, adding that any agreement on the lock is “void” as Pitt seeks to keep the deal on the Conditioning the basis of “Jolie’s silence”.
