Geena Davis detailed a horrifying story about Bill Murray in her latest memoir. death of politeness. Geena Davis told the Times she should have “deeply defended herself” against Bill Murray. The actress went on to say that if she “had known how to react,” she would have avoided the situation. She admitted she was “non-confrontational” during this time and was anxious during the audition.
However, Geena Davis doesn’t blame herself alone for how Bill Murray allegedly behaved. She told the Times that while she regrets a lot about what happened, “it wasn’t [her] Mistakes.” She revealed that she said no “several times” even though Murray didn’t “relent.” The actress said she “created a scene” to get Murray to quit. However, Davis admits, “Not yet in that to be able to withstand the onslaught”.
Unfortunately, Geena Davis isn’t the only actress who has told this kind of story about Bill Murray. As Variety noted, during an episode of the Los Angeles Times Asian Enough podcast, Lucy Liu revealed that the Ghostbuster star made “unacceptable” and “inexcusable” comments about her on set Charlie’s Angeles. Lui stated that Murray started throwing insults at her while she was performing a scene.
Adding to the situation with Geena Davis, Bill Murray found himself in the negative spotlight after Searchlight Pictures halted production of a film he was starring in because of his inappropriate behavior on set. The film, to be mortal was to be written and directed by comedian Aziz Ansari. The project was based on the non-fiction book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande.
If what Geena Davis says about Bill Murray is true, it could have a significant impact on the actor’s career. Murray will star in the upcoming Marvel project Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. What role the actor will play in the film is still unclear.
He was also called out by actress Keke Palmer for his allegedly inappropriate behavior. Although not mentioned by name, the ghostbusters Star was probably the subject of an Instagram post from the actress about professionalism on set. Palmer was to star alongside him to be mortalalthough she had a similar situation as Geena Davis during her time with Bill Murray.
During his appearance at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ event, the actor was asked about the reports that he was unprofessional on set to be mortal. He admitted doing something he thought was “funny” and said the studio was investigating the incident. Regardless, Geena Davis’ story about Bill Murray and reports of his unprofessional past will haunt the actor forever. We’ll have to see how this affects his further career.
