According to leaker Jon Prosser, the fourth-gen iPhone SE will feature almost exactly the same design as the iPhone XR.

In a video on his Front Page Tech YouTube channel, Prosser said the fourth-gen iPhone SE will inherit the design of 2018’s iPhone XR. The change is plausible as the design of the first generation “iPhone SE” was based on the 2013 “iPhone” 5S, while the design of the second and third generation “iPhone SE” was based on the 2017 “iPhone” 8.

The latest information expands on Prosser’s original August claim, but he remains unclear about the device’s internals and specs — though it will likely use slightly older hardware to keep costs down. To showcase the design of the fourth-generation “iPhone SE,” Apple concept art designer Ian Zelbo created renderings that purport to accurately represent the new device:

SE 4 makes 3

SE 4 makes 2
In October 2021 a report from the Chinese side mydrivers specifically said that the “iPhone SE” will transition to an “iPhone” XR-like design – a claim that has now seemingly been corroborated by a number of other sources.

The fourth generation “iPhone SE” was already being rumored before the third generation model launched earlier this year. Prosser’s latest claim aligns with a recent forecast by display analyst Ross Young, who said the next-gen “iPhone SE” will feature a 6.1-inch display with a “notch” at the top of the display. As early as 2019, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo first said that Apple was working on an iPhone SE with a 6.1-inch LCD display. Since the “iPhone” XR featured a 6.1-inch notched LCD display, rumors about the design of the next-gen “iPhone SE” seem to be largely unanimous.
