House Of The Dragon’s Deaths & Destruction is getting so much worse

The murder of Lucerys Velaryon, Rhaenyra’s son, is the first of many acts in a very brutal war. house of the dragon Viewers have already gotten their first glimpse of what dragon battles look like, but there’s a lot worse to come in Season 2. Vhagar is the greatest of all dragons in house of the dragon, and their size is evident in battles against Lucerys and the much smaller Arrax. A dragon’s ability to bring about mass destruction has also been demonstrated game of Thrones Season 8 when Daenerys destroyed Kings Landing on her dragon Drogon, turning the city to ashes, slaughtering the majority of the innocent populace and earning the title of “the mad queen”.

However, these are individual services. Later in the Dance of the Dragons, all of the dragons belonging to Westeros’ warring factions will take part in numerous bloody battles resulting in countless casualties, both human and dragon. The fire-breathing action shown so far is just one example of the creatures’ fearsome potential, and the death of Lucerys Velaryon makes it clear that this is the case house of the dragon Writers have no intention of shrinking from the horrors of war. As a prequel to the groundbreaking game of Thrones, house of the dragon Audiences can look forward to a crimson depiction of war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

How long the dance of the dragons lasts (and who wins)

In the novels of George RR Martin, the Dance of the Dragons rages from AD 129 to AD 131. The entire reign of Aegon II is marred by the war against Rhaenyra Targaryen, his half-sister, for the Iron Throne. Aegon sustains serious injuries during the conflict, leaving him severely burned and deformed. In AD 130, Rhaenyra conquers King’s Landing, but is seen as a traitor and expelled shortly thereafter. Aegon then feeds them to his dragon, Sunfire. Despite Rhaenyra’s death, the dance of the dragons still does not end as the black armies continue their march on King’s Landing to dethrone Aegon.

With the green armies exhausted and the war all but lost, Aegon still refuses to surrender. Ultimately, Aegon II is found dead in the royal sept, probably poisoned by his own men to end the war. Rhaenyra’s son Aegon III is crowned shortly thereafter. So who wins the Dance of the Dragons is somewhat subjective. Aegon II outlasts Rhaenyra, but Rhaenyra’s descendant will sit on the Iron Throne once the war is finally over. Not necessarily committed to the source material, house of the dragon can pick a more definitive winner.
