Will Call of Duty: Warzone be canceled after the launch of the sequel?
Fans are hyped for Call of Duty: Warzone 2. However, everyone was concerned about the inability to carry over game data from the first game to the sequel. So, most players thought they had to start over with the Warzone sequel. However, that doesn’t mean players will lose their old data and won’t be able to enjoy it.
The current Warzone will be renamed according to “Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera” after the launch of Warzone 2.0 @_Tom_Henderson_.
The name centered on Caldera makes me wonder if Rebirth Island and Fortunes Keep will be removed to encourage more players to switch to Warzone 2 🤔

Recently, Call of Duty insider and journalist Tom Henderson uncovered that the original Warzone will not shut down after the sequel comes out. Instead, Activision plans to change the name and continue the game. Also, it will keep getting new updates and DLCs. The possible new name would be Warzone caldera.
The new name for the original Warzone game has also sparked some new speculation. Some believe Activision might remove it Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep from the original game to encourage players to transition to the Warzone sequel.
However, Activision or other developers have not officially announced anything about these updates. There’s a Call of Duty Next event coming soon to introduce Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2. So Activision might have something to say about that rumored update there.
What do fans have to say about the news at Warzone?
Call of Duty fans had a unique reaction to the leak. Most fans claimed keeping the original Warzone alive was a waste as nobody will be playing after the sequel’s release. Also, some fans speculated that the game would only have the Caldera playlist, which didn’t impress them. Let’s look at some fan reactions.
No way are they leaving the original WARZONE with Caldera, they should just bring back Verdansk for the rest of the game life. With such weird decisions Raven making, I’m hoping a new studio oversees Warzone support and not Raven

As everyone wants to play once Warzone 2 is out

It’s good that they will continue to support the game, but I can’t imagine Caldera being in OG Warzone forever…

That seems bad, updating 2 games at once has never been a good thing

In my opinion…just turn off OG Warzone as the new one is coming for last gen too 🤷♂️

Yes, let’s keep Caldera the map nobody likes instead of Verdansk. Big heads on the team over there.

Cool how many said it will be a dead game once Warzone 2 comes out. Cool.
