Capcom today announced that the Mac version of the survival horror game Resident Evil Village will be released on Friday, October 28th. The game will be available on Macs equipped with Apple silicon chips.

Resident Evil Village was first released in 2021 but was limited to PCs and consoles. As with previous Resident Evil games, Resident Evil Village is a first-person game in which players must explore their surroundings in hopes of discovering items and equipment in order to advance.

Set in a snowy Eastern European village, the game focuses more on action and combat than the previous title Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Village takes place about three years after Biohazard.

According to Capcom, Resident Evil Village is based on the first Mac version of the RE Engine Capcom game engine and is compatible with M1 and M2 Macs running macOS Monterey or macOS Ventura.

The Mac version of Resident Evil Village comes with the Trauma Pack DLC, Raccoon Weapon Parts, and a Survival Resource Pack. However, it doesn’t include Resident Evil: RE:Birth, but Capcom says the Winters’ expansion will be coming in the near future. Winters’ expansion will introduce a new third-person mode along with new game content.

Resident Evil Village will be available on the Mac App Store starting October 28th.
