When asked what it was like to share the experience with everyone else in line at the store, David replied: “To be honest we all imagined it, we all want to be here together, we all want something experience where we celebrate the amazing life of our Queen.” He added: “Something like this is meant to be shared together. “You know, we eat Pringles. We eat sherbet lemons, sandwiches and coffee.”

Many of the people in line, realizing they were waiting with one of their country’s biggest stars, took to social media to share the surprise. “Oooh and DAVID BECKHAM is just a few lines behind us in line. That causes a stir!” tweeted Jules Birkby. “The queue is now full of people trying to photograph David Beckham and forgetting to actually go ahead. It’s madness!” she added.

Later that day, while still waiting in line, David joined in ITV News about his personal story with the Queen, who died on September 8th at the age of 96. “I was very lucky. The special moment for me was when I received my OBE (Order of the British Empire, the second highest rank in the British Empire excluding Orders of Knights/Dames). . . I took my grandparents who raised me to be a great royalist and of the royal family,” he told the outlet. “To have her there, and then I step forward to get my honor and speak to Her Majesty. I was lucky enough to have a few moments with her.”

He also detailed what it was like for him to play for the England national football team during the Queen’s reign. “You know, I always wanted to represent my country, be a captain in my country, and every time we stood there, we wore those three lions shirts, and I wore my armband and we sang, you know, ‘God protect our queen.’ It was something that meant so much to us,” he explained.

The line to see the Queen in her coffin stretches for miles along the south bank of the Thames CNN. As the crowd waits their turn, they will walk past attractions like the London Eye and the Globe Theatre, according to the outlet. The Queen will rest at Westminster Hall until Monday morning (September 19) when her funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey.
