‘Sister Wives’ star Kody Brown admits he didn’t love his wife Christine and was only tender to her because he had to be

'Sister Wives' star Kody Brown blames ex Christine Brown for his bad relationships with some of his kids: 'It's not always my fault'

“I’m sure you had no problem making six children with me, you bouncy simpleton!”

Kody Brown took a few very Low blows in Sunday’s explosive episode sister wives.

After an angry chat with his (now ex)wife Christine (as well as his other three wives, Meri, Robin and Janelle) Kody dropped a bombshell on camera during one of his confessionals. He claimed he didn’t really love Christine – who was his third wife until she left him in 2021. He also claimed that he was only affectionate towards her because he felt he had to be.

“I just feel like I screwed up with her for the last 14 years,” Kody said during the episode after admitting he’s very angry that Christine decided to take him and his polygamous family in leaving.

“I put so much effort into our marriage. I held her hand, I kissed her. I wasn’t in love. I did it as a husband’s duty,” Kody reveals, adding that Christine “stopped loving me years ago.”

“Gosh, I wonder why?!”

Kody stated that he had been clingy to Christine out of obligation all those years and “tried to be a loving husband.” He blamed Christine for the breakup of their 26-year marriage.

“And now that she’s leaving, I just wanted to give her my opinion on leaving…It’s not my fault!” Kody said..”[Christine] did this, that’s how I feel. I don’t care if that’s not fair. That’s how I feel. she did this.”

During another confession, Kody angrily accuses Christine of telling the family’s children that he doesn’t love them. (Kody and Christine share six children, and Kody has 12 other children with his other wives.)

“She’ll go around telling the kids I didn’t love them.”

Kody, a man who literally just said on national television that he doesn’t love Christine, is pissed off because he thinks Christine is telling people he doesn’t love her. Make it meaningful!

Elsewhere in the episode, Kody thanked Christine for coming into the family and said it was a “blessing” because it helped him sort out the “mess” he found himself in (presumably because Janelle and meri didn’t get along at the beginning of the relationship).

However, he immediately turned around and thanked her for leaving. He also thanked her for “ripping the band-aid off so quickly.”

“You came into our lives, you did us a favor. You’re leaving, and I almost feel like it’s a favor, too,” he said.

“The real Kody Brown, ladies and gentlemen! I will show myself.”

As ‘Sister Wives’ fans know, Kody and Meri now have a very strained, non-romantic relationship, and Kody admitted he didn’t love Janelle last season during the Tell-All season finale. Kody was asked directly by the host Sukanya Krishnan whether he loves Janelle, to whom he has been married since 1993. Kody replied that he loves Janelle, but Sukanya was quick to point out that she didn’t ask him about it. Finally, Kody admitted he’s not “in love” with his second wife – with whom he shares six children – but said he considers her a great friend.

After shaking his head when asked if he was in love with Janelle, Kody argued that Janelle felt the same about him.

“Janelle wouldn’t tell you she was in that place with me either, if she were honest,” Kody said.

Just last week, Christine’s daughter Gwendlyn seemed to confirm that Janelle left Kody. However, Kody and Janelle have remained silent on the subject.
