Where to buy the Nvidia RTX 4090 on launch day
Written by adrina

The big day is here for those who want to get their hands on the new Nvidia RTX 4090. October 12th is the big launch day and the first opportunity for those outside of the press to get their hands on the beast. There are also a few different versions, with Nvidia’s partners releasing their own RTX 4090 alongside the first-party Founders Edition.

With a starting price of $1,600, it’s not for everyone. However, high demand is expected to continue. The gains over the last generation for a modest increase in MSRP are clear. And this time there is no interest from crypto miners, so prices should keep calm and there might actually be a chance of getting one.

But where can you even buy them? The news ahead of launch wasn’t the clearest, but it’s hitting shelves now. So if you’re looking to buy an RTX 4090, here’s where to look.

Where to buy the Nvidia RTX 4090 in the US and Canada

Nvidia RTX 4090

There are some guaranteed locations that will be stocking the RTX 4090 from launch day. While not all links may be live at the time of writing, we’ll definitely keep them updated as more come live. The usual suspects are all good, with Best Buy and Newegg already listing both Founders Edition and third-party cards. B&H will also be joining in the fun, and Amazon will definitely be stocking it, although it hasn’t gone live at this point.

It looks like there will also be third-party versions for $1,599, although details on those are still a bit scarce. Expect more information on October 12 after 6 a.m. Pacific Time. All links should go live throughout the day. Best Buy also requires customers to have an account with them to purchase the RTX 4090 as it is a high demand item.

Also keep in mind that the RTX is 4090 big and some of the third-party versions will be even bigger. You may have to grab a new PC case while shopping just to house it. You should be fine with your existing PSU as long as it’s at least 850W (although we’d recommend 1000W to give yourself some headroom), although all new ATX 3.0 PSUs at least mean you can avoid using the adapter cable power supply the card.

Where to buy the Nvidia RTX 4090 in Europe

In Europe, you can expect Amazon to sell the new RTX 4090 in the various markets it supports across the continent. As in the US, we expect the quotes to go live sometime during October 12th, likely after 6am for many of the third party options.

Smaller, more niche retailers are also a good place to look. Retailers such as Overclockers and eBuyer in the UK or CaseKing in Germany will always be a good reputation. The RRP is slightly higher on European shores, with the Founders Edition costing £1,699.
