WORLD WEIGHT BLOCKBUSTER SHOWDOWN! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, September 10, 2022 with a must-have updated welterweight thriller that will star the fan favorite. Nate “The Stockton Badboy” Diaz now fight the former lightweight champion, Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson, who will return to the 170-pound weight class at the last minute for this improved task. Meanwhile, in the UFC 279 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, here’s what we’re getting undefeated contender for 3rd place, Chamzat Chimaev, opposite Kevin “Waymaker” Holland in a five-round catchweight bout. These bouts are preceded by another exciting catchweight match between “Leech”. Li Jingliang and Daniel ‘D-Rod’ Rodriguezin a must-see barnburner.

Don’t miss a second of EPIC face-punching action!

Despite a last-second main event change that saw Diaz now fight Tony Ferguson instead of undefeated welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev, the Stockton, California native will continue Saturday night in Las Vegas. It’s the final fight of Diaz’s current UFC contract and many believe it will be the last we see the veteran fighter set foot in the Octagon. Diaz is expected to leave the UFC and test free agency through 2023.

There’s no doubt that Diaz will be the main attraction at UFC 279. Despite only having one win in his last four trips to the cage, Diaz remains one of the most recognizable names on the UFC roster and one of the last remaining OGs in the sport. Because of this, the MMA world will be watching and absorbing every minute of the action as Diaz fights Ferguson in the main event.

McGregor – who has shared the Octagon with Diaz on two memorable occasions – paid tribute to his former enemy via social media today. It was a nice send-off to Notorious, who still thinks he’ll have his trilogy fight with Diaz one day.

“Congratulations to Nate Diaz on making it to the end of his contract with the UFC and as a true superstar goer. An incredible achievement. Fair play. Our trilogy will happen,” McGregor wrote.

McGregor also avoided Chimaev for lack of weight and grinned about it on the scale. According to Notorious, Khamzat should have been completely removed from the map.

β€œIn my opinion, they should have taken Khamzat off the map entirely. Reconfiguring fights and having a cheaper fight for the failed cutter will only make many others in the game follow suit. The grin on the scales was enough for me. Pull from the map and starve. McG UFC,” McGregor wrote.

What do you say, maniacs? How will you remember Nate Diaz’s UFC career?
