Ashley Judd broke her leg in a ‘freak accident’ while mourning the death of her mother Naomi Judd.
The actress revealed that the thigh condyle fracture occurred over the summer and healed within two months, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The 54-year-old star, who broke his leg during a harrowing 55-hour ordeal deep in the Congo jungle last year, spoke with Dr. Jonathan Flint on breaking her femoral neck.

She spoke for an hour with Dr. Flint via Zoom and revealed her injury “healed in a flash in two months.”
The femoral condyle is the spherical end of a person’s leg at the femur, the thigh bone; There are two condyles on each leg.
“It was what it was. Clumsiness is associated with grief, and there were other people in our family after Mom died who fell down the stairs and had accidents, and that’s what mine happened to look like,” she explained.

Naomi Judd died on April 30 at the age of 76 at her home in Tennessee from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Coming to terms with her death, Ashley said: “The day my beloved mother committed suicide I had to call so many people. There were five women who were with me within moments of sharing this tragic news with them, and they are my chosen sisters.
“I was just thinking about those first few days after her death and how there was always someone at my house,” she said.
She explained that her friends are her community, and they “held me physically and they held my home and they held my soul.”

In February 2021, Ashley revealed that she broke her leg on a trip to Congo when a malfunctioning headlamp made it difficult for her to see during an excursion.
She said she then tripped over people during an Instagram Live with The New York Times’ Nicholas Kristof, causing her to break her leg.

Ashley said after the accident the next 55 hours were “harrowing” as she “lay on the forest floor at five hours”.
She was with one such colleague until she could be evacuated, the star explained.
