Warning! The following contains spoilers for the week 4 clearance Big Brother Season 24. Read at your own risk!
Big Brother Season 24 has already been a very exciting season for the popular franchise and a lot of it has to do with Taylor Hale. The former Miss Michigan was faced with a series of micro-aggressions from other houseguests from the moment she stepped onto the game upset many fans who were unhappy with her treatment. The season’s most recent evictions first experienced that backlash when they returned to the normal world, and according to former houseguest Ameerah Jones, it’s been a struggle to deal with.
I had the privilege of speaking to Ameerah a week later their expulsion Big Brotherthis was at a point where she could better experience and understand the backlash from fans (and even former houseguests) regarding things that had transpired in season 24 so far. Ameerah touched on the situation when I asked her if she’d had a chance to speak to former evictee Joe “Pooch” Pucciarelli and/or Paloma Aguilar, whose The removal for personal reasons ultimately helped turn Taylor’s game. Here’s how the now-former candidate responded:
Ameerah admitted some ugly things were said in the story Big Brother house and talked about the unique experience they all shared in the game. Part of it included live feeds viewed by potentially millions of viewers Paramount+ subscriberswho has posted and shared clips of many negative or unflattering things being said about other house guests.
At the time of her expulsion, Ameerah was unaware of what the outside world was saying about her or her in-game allies. Ameerah spoke about what it felt like to leave the house disappointed, only to be met with negative feedback from fans. She believes the shock she felt will also be felt by other displaced players, saying:
Ameerah Jones later expressed in our interview that she would like to speak to Taylor Hale for the one-on-one interview in the finale and that she has no bad feelings towards her or anyone else Big Brother A house. Ameerah also stated that she hasn’t been able to watch the game or the live feeds yet because she doesn’t feel in the right headspace to watch. However, she has seen many clips that have been sent to her and mentions that it makes her feel up to date to have watched them.
Ameerah isn’t the last houseguest to face a backlash Big Brother Fans online as Nicole Layog and Daniel Durston are also likely to face criticism for their behavior. With Nicole likely to be leaving the game soon, Ameerah offered her former allies some advice for life outside of the game in the immediate future:
That’s certainly good advice for any houseguest fans turn on, especially for comments they made that were controversial or inflammatory in any way. Not all Big Brother Houseguests who are perceived as “bad guys” end up finding redemption with fans, but accountability is often a good way to reduce hate online. Not acknowledging it can lead to more problems since Celebrity Big Brother Houseguest Todrick Hall can testify after him and others CBB The house guests experienced a tense and uncomfortable finale after his fellow competitors saw clips of what he said during filming. We’ll see if Nicole and others heed Ameerah’s advice.
Big Brother aired on CBS (opens in new tab) Sundays and Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET and Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET. Keep up with the live feeds by checking out Paramount+, especially since the extended non-stop periods are one of them lots of changes we love about Season 24.
