Will Smith’s ex-wife Sheree Zampino says she had a falling out with him and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith over co-parenting differences
Will Smith’s ex-wife Sheree Zampino revealed it took some work to figure out the best co-parenting relationship with her ex and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
The 54-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who shares son Trey, now 29, with the 53-year-old actor, whom she split from in 1995 after three years of marriage, discussed her obstacles on Monday’s episode of the podcast Behind the Velvet Rope”.
“They have three different dynamics, three different personalities and different belief systems, different approaches. And there were times when we hit our heads and it wasn’t pretty,” she shared.

However, the reality TV star explained it’s important that it works out for the kids in the end. Will and Jada, 50, married in 1997 and share son Jaden, 24, and daughter Willow, 21.
“We’ll get back on the horse and carry on. We do what we have to do because at the end of the day it’s about the kids again. We have a responsibility to them,” she said.
Adding that “it gets easier when you respect each other,” Sheree shared that the only thing that matters to her is that Jada treats Trey well.

“It was like that with Jada as long as she was treating [Trey] Well, we’re fine. It’s all right. And she treated him well and she loved him,” she said of the Matrix Revolutions actress.
During the podcast, she was asked by host David Yontef how she was able to develop a close relationship with Will and Jada.
“I’m not going to say it’s easy. I think I learned this from my mother early on – like right from the start: my heart always beats for my child. My child comes first. He really does. He comes first, so it’s not about me anymore.’

She continued: “So how do we do that where we honor each other [the kids] and we put them first and don’t set a good thing on them – the good is the relationship they have with each other, the relationship they have with me, the relationship my son has with Jada.’
“We were just able to go there and I’m grateful for that. I can’t say exactly why, but I’m grateful that we all had the same frequency and side to really wanting to do this, which is probably why we are called to one another in this room.
Though Sheree was happy to talk about their parenting strategies together, she didn’t want to talk about Will’s infamous 2022 Oscars night, where he slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage, which Sheree was present for.
“I’m not going to talk to you about that,” she told the host, laughing.
