Spoilers ahead for the latest episode of The story of the maid“No mans land.”
The story of the maid season 5 was previously a sucker who brought this with Hulu subscription back to the dystopian world of Gilead and Copying Alexis Bledel’s Emily included. Although a lot has actually happened in Toronto and No Man’s Land since so many characters have escaped authoritarian society. Episode 7 was a capsule story for June and Serena Joy and the The story of the maid The author has explained the “horror” of Mrs. Waterford’s cruel cliffhanger.
The newest The story of the maid Episode “No Man’s Land” was written by Rachel Shukert, who was new to the writers’ room in Season 5 and helped drive the story of the recurring characters and fascinating newcomers. In this episode, we saw June help Serena Joy give birth and the two women bond and reconcile in a way we’ve never seen before. But the other shoe falls when Yvonne Strahovski’s character was taken to border security and her baby Noah was taken away shortly after her maternity. This was a chilling moment orchestrated by June’s husband Luke (OT Fagbenle) and will no doubt have a huge impact on their future relationship. Shukert spoke up TV line about this terrible moment of revenge and said:
Talk about some serious consequences. During most The story of the maid Season 5 June struggles to control her violent tendencies. And while her husband Luke had previously helped anchor her to reality, he seems increasingly interested in them getting their own justice. Unfortunately, his move against Serena Joy came after June broke up with her and it was a really difficult scene to watch.
Rachel Shukert’s comments highlight the change we’ve seen over the past two seasons of Luke The story of the maid. And while he and June formed a united front and found their spark again, the character of Elisabeth Moss may have forever negatively impacted her husband. And as a result, she and Luke did to Serena what Gilead did to them: took their child. And the results were truly terrifying.
The story of the maid is known for its chilling and emotional sequences, but perhaps Season 5 scared me the most for June herself. In fact, there were several times in No Man’s Land where I feared she might harm Serena’s baby. But instead, the protagonist found a way to actually find common ground with her former abuser, making Serena’s fate and her cries for help all the more tragic.
While Serena Joy is usually a character we like to hate, The story of the maid once again found a way to turn her relationship with June upside down. Looking back at Gilead showed how they could have had a friendship if they had not lived in that cruel and unforgiving society. And in doing so, we also saw the deceased maids, Alma and Brianna, who were killed by a train last season in an attempt to escape.
The story of the maid has two more episodes this season, airing Wednesdays on Hulu. In the meantime, check out these List of TV premieres to schedule your next binge watch.
