Apple Music and Mercedes-Benz bring premium immersive spatial audio to drivers around the world
PARIS Apple and Mercedes-Benz today announced that Apple Music’s acclaimed spatial audio with support for Dolby Atmos is now available for the first time as a native experience in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, fulfilling a shared commitment to bringing the very best music to consumers worldwide provide experience. Apple Music with Spatial Audio is fully integrated into Mercedes-Maybach models, the EQS and EQS SUV, as well as the EQE and S-Class via the MBUX infotainment system, providing these vehicles with studio-quality sound better than any concert hall, and offering drivers a fully immersive listening experience with unprecedented, multi-dimensional sound and clarity.

Mercedes-Benz drivers who already subscribe to Apple Music get instant access to an ever-growing selection of songs and albums available in Spatial Audio, from some of the world’s biggest artists across all genres, including hip-hop, country, Latin, pop, and classic. Apple Music also offers curated Spatial Audio playlists, like Driving in Spatial Audio and Hip-Hop in Spatial Audio, where listeners can find and discover songs from their favorite artists. In addition, subscribers can access Apple Music’s entire catalog of 100 million songs, thousands of editorially curated playlists and a daily pick from the world’s top music experts, including every artist and presenter broadcasting across Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country Live stream radio stations worldwide.
Virgil Abloh’s limited-edition Mercedes-Maybach, released to consumers last month, was one of the first cars in the world – and the first model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup – to offer this superior, multi-dimensional soundscape , powered by the Burmester high-end 4D sound system. The system includes 31 speakers, including six 3D speakers that emit their sound from above, four near-ear speakers in the front seats and a 18.5-liter subwoofer; eight transducers (two per seat); two amplifiers; and 1,750 watts of power. The technology will soon be rolled out to other models.
