Following the death of Queen Elizabeth at Balmoral Castle on Thursday, the royal family have come out in public to begin public mourning for their beloved matriarch. King Charles and his sons Prince William and Prince Harry quickly left Scotland to return to England, but the Queen’s other children and grandchildren stayed behind.
On Saturday, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and the new Prince and Princess of Wales walked outside Windsor Castle to greet the well-wishers and receive the floral tributes. Earlier in the day, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew and their children attended a service at Crathie Kirk, a small church near Balmoral, and accepted the tributes outside Balmoral and yesterday welcomed King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort the well-wishers gathered at Buckingham Palace.

The four were somber as they left Windsor Castle.
It was Kate’s first appearance since King Charles bestowed the title Princess of Wales on her.
The foursome have not been publicly pictured together since 2020 at the annual Commonwealth Service in London, just before Meghan and Harry moved to California.
Meghan spoke to a young fan.
Earlier in the day, other royals picked up the flowers outside of Balmoral. Sophie, Countess of Wessex is pictured here in the centre.
Princess Eugenie and Beatrice also knelt to see the flowers. Beatrice also left her own floral tribute to her late grandmother.

The day after Queen Elizabeth’s death, King Charles and Camilla returned to London.
They went outside Buckingham Palace to see the tributes left behind.
Camilla drew her husband’s attention to something.
“As the Queen herself did with such unwavering devotion, I solemnly pledge myself during the remaining time that God grants me to uphold the constitutional principles in the heart of our nation,” said King Charles III. Yesterday in his first speech as monarch.
The two waved to the assembled crowd.
