Week 30 in review: Zenfone 9 and MatePad Pro 11 official, Pixel 7 leaks
Written by adrina

Another week down, let’s recap. The most popular story of the week concerned the camera sensors on the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones. They will mainly have the same Samsung GN1 sensor and Sony IMX381 in the ultrawide camera as the current Pixel 6/6 Pro. But both Pixels of the 7-series will be bumped up against a new 11MP autofocus selfie module from Samsung 3J1, while the Pixel 7 Pro will upgrade its zoom camera’s sensor from the IMX586 to the GM1.

The Asus Zenfone 9 is official. It’s delightfully compact, but that doesn’t detract from its performance or battery life. The phone features a 5.9-inch Super AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with up to 16GB RAM and a 4,300mAh battery. In terms of camera, the Zenfone 9 has a 50MP main camera with gimbal OIS and a 12MP ultrawide non-autofocus camera. The Asus Zenfone 9 will start at €800 for the 8/128GB model (exact price depends on local VAT).

Huawei held an event where it revealed details on the global availability of the MateBook X Pro 2022, the Freebuds Pro 2 earbuds, the acclaimed HarmonyOS 3, which it will fully reveal this fall, and the MatePad Pro 11.

Huawei advertises the MatePad Pro 11 as the world’s thinnest and lightest 11-inch tablet, measuring just 5.9mm and weighing 449g. The Huawei MatePad Pro 11″ has a 120 Hz OLED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels (16:10, 274 ppi). This 10-bit panel features perfect color calibration (deltaE

The tablet is powered by an 8,300 mAh battery, which is large enough for 11.5 hours of (local) video playback. The 888 model supports Huawei’s 66W SuperCharge, but comes with a 40W charger. The 870 One achieves a charging power of 40W and comes with a 22.5W adapter.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 11 will soon be available worldwide. The base model with 8/128 GB costs 3,300 CNY/481 €. The full-featured 12/512GB model with an M-Pencil and keyboard is sold on Vmall for CNY7,700 (however, the 512GB model will not be available worldwide).

Finally, a word about the Galaxy S23 range. First, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will likely retain the 10MP 10x periscope module from the S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra. Second, Qualcomm has all but confirmed that the Galaxy S23 series will only use Snapdragon chipsets. Well, what was said was that currently around 75% of the Galaxy S22 series is powered by Snapdragon chips and that ratio will increase next year.
