Paul vs. Silva took place on October 29th at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Jake Paul (6-0) collided with former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva (3-2) in the main event. The fight was broadcast live on Showtime pay-per-view.

Round 1: Paul steps forward, shows his jab, Silva keeps his distance. A minute and Silva has essentially thrown nothing. But not much from Paul either. Right hand to Paul’s body stats. Paul starts throwing heavily, but Silva fights back. Paul on offense but he shows Silva a lot of respect. Counter left points for Silva. You end up with some clinching. Not much to score, probably a Paul round.

Round 2: Paul sustains this jab to keep Silva away. Silva misses a left-hand lunge. He’s already a lot busier than he was in Round 1. Right hand, uppercut for Silva. Paul isn’t afraid to fire back, but Silva slips a few big punches. Silva also looks a bit wild. He begins to speak and gently circles the ring. Paul just misses with a big right hand. Silva with this unique head and body movement. Right hand scores for Silva. Silva shrugs off a Paul right. Silva screws up when Paul gives him a couple of short shots in the clinch.

Round 3: Silva starts using the jab for the first time in this fight for real. Paul then goes back to the corpse. Silva aggressive and Paul goes into the clinch. Paul with a jab. Silva chases Paul away with her right hand. Paul 1-2 to the body. Silva is still marching forward. The left hand catches Paul. Fast counterattack on the left by Paul. Paul slips into a right uppercut. Silva’s hands are deep and some of those punches come through. Paul with a series of quick shots and Paul grabs his arm to steady himself. Big Miss by Paul, Silva hits the body.

Round 4: Paul with a quick charge, Silva backs him up with a right hand. Silva ducks a left hook. A “Silva” chant begins. Paul goes to the body. He circles well. A right hand from Paul is answered by Silva. Paul’s jab now lands consistently. Silva doubles on a jab. Paul goes body-body-head, Silva responds with some good rib shots.

Round 5: Paul comes out aggressive, he connects with body shots. Silva scores with a clean jab. Silva corners Paul and lands with short punches and body shots. Paul buys himself time with the clinch. Silva left center. Paul goes back to the jab. Uppercut by Silva. He lands two more as Paul tries to clinch with him. Paul hits the body. Silva is looking for some time. Two shots on Silva’s body. Two more uppercuts from The Spider. This is a Silva round.

Round 6: Paul follows a left hook with a good right to the body. Silva stays on the edge of Paul’s jab. Paul misses a haymaker, but his follower lands. Silva with lots of feints and moves but not much offense this round. Paul’s three punch combo is a good one. Silva answers with her left hand. The referee has to warn Silva about dirty boxing. Silva throws hard against the body. Paul with a left hook. They exchange jabs. Paul misses with another haymaker, they argue at the bell. Difficult round to score.

Round 7: Paul is still pushing the pace. Lunging to the right scores for Paul. Paul with a head and body combo. Silva misses with a right loop. Could he be exhausting? Paul to the body and then connects a large right hand. Good right hand from Silva. Paul’s right hand tears open the body. Paul reaches out and tags Silva with a right. Silva to the body and Paul latches on to stop a Silva riot.

Round 8: Silva comes out to bully Paul. He looks like he knows he might need a finish. Paul makes him pay with a right hand that scores a knockdown! Wow! Silva up. Paul smells blood. He misses, right, giving those men two minutes to work. Silva heavy on the body. Paul charges the right hand. Silva stabs in, but Paul dodges the follow up. Silva goes right over Paul’s chin. Right hook by Silva. Paul initiates a clinch. Paul sticks a jab and lands left. Silva marches forward as the bell rings.
