“I ended up leaving the show. I was so much more than what was objectified on stage,” Markle, 41, said per PERSONS.
the previous suits Star said she took the job on the game show to make ends meet while auditioning for various acting roles. But Markle admitted it was difficult to reconcile the work with her academic past.
“I also studied International Relations in college and was on set sometimes deal or no deal and when I think back to my time when I worked as an intern at the US Embassy in Argentina in Buenos Aires and back then I was in the motorcade with the safety of the treasury and specially appreciated for my brain. I was valued for something completely different here,” she said.

Her mind and interests “were not the focus,” she continued.
“I didn’t like feeling forced to just have looks and little substance, and that’s how it felt to me back then when I was reduced to that particular archetype: the word ‘Bimbo’.”
Her emotional response to her time on the show in 2006 and 2007 was sparked after she came across the program while channel surfing.
In the series, contestants competed for a chance to win a $1 million prize hidden in one of 26 sealed briefcases – all held by attractive women.
“It brought back a lot of memories,” recalls the mother of two.
Markle said most other women with briefcases are intellectual, but the show’s producers only wanted to focus on physical beauty, which the panel was often told to “suck in.”

“Looking back on that time, I’ll never forget that one detail — because just before we got on stage, there was a woman running the show, and she was backstage and I can still hear her. She couldn’t pronounce my last name right at the time and I knew who she was talking to because she said, ‘Markle, suck it up! Markle, suck it up!’”
Markle said she decided to leave the show because she didn’t like how it made her feel. “I was surrounded with smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn’t why we were there. I would end up leaving with this hole in my stomach, knowing that I am so much more than what was objectified on stage.”
After quitting, Markle, who is married to Prince Harry, landed the role of attorney Rachel Zane in the Toronto-based legal drama suits in 2011. She left the show — and acted altogether — following their wedding in 2018.

Meanwhile, Howie Mandel hosted deal or no deal from 2005 to 2019, Piers Morgan said last year he had no recollection of Markle being on the show.
“I have absolutely no memory of her. I didn’t remember until she was dating Harry and people started saying, “What can you tell us about Meghan?” and I would say, ‘Who is Meghan?’”
Mandel said she made no impression. “I didn’t know – I couldn’t remember. I didn’t know her and I can’t remember her to this day. But maybe that’s the beauty of it.”
