English pop star Boy George said on Saturday he was “appalled” by recent anti-Semitic comments from Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, and slammed Kim Kardashian for not telling her ex-husband openly about the scandal had criticized.

In a video posted to Instagram, Boy George said he “listened with great sadness to the anti-Semitic comments coming out of Kanye West’s mouth” and was “kind of appalled that more artists haven’t come out and spoken out against what he’s saying.” ”

“I’m appalled that Kim Kardashian hasn’t come out and spoken out on this debate because this woman has kids with Kanye, so as a mother she needs to understand how it feels for young Jewish kids to hear this shit.” * Comments on how demoralizing and terrifying that must be.”

He continued, “As a gay man, I’ve experienced years of prejudice, you know, so the idea of doing that to someone else because of their race or their color or their sexuality or their gender is just horrific to me, and it should be horrific to you.” be.”

Although not Jewish himself, the lead singer of pop band Culture Club maintains close ties to the Jewish state. He has appeared in Israel on several occasions and has spoken out against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In 2020, the pop star, whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd, declared his love for Israel by releasing a single written and sung with Israeli Asaf Goren, with lyrics in English and Hebrew.

Ye has faced public uproar over recent remarks that many saw as anti-Semitic.

In one of his first tweets in two years, Ye wrote earlier this month: “I’m a bit tired tonight but when I wake up I’ll be terminally ill – Semitic because black people are actually Jews too.” You guys toyed with me and tried to blackmail anyone who opposes your agenda.” This tweet was later removed from Twitter.

He initially doubled down on his attack, saying he was “used to being screwed by the Jewish media,” that “the Jewish media blocked me,” and that “Jewish people owned the black voice.”

Twitter and Instagram have since suspended the rapper from their platforms, saying his posts violated their policies.

In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan that aired last week, Ye defended his comments but said he was sorry they caused some pain.

“I’m sorry for the people I’ve hurt with the confusion I’ve caused. I feel like I’ve been hurt and confused, and I feel sorry for the families of people who are unrelated to the trauma I went through,” he said.

When asked by Morgan if he still loves Kardashian, to whom he was married for six years, Ye said, “Absolutely, I will love her for life.” He later added, “We will always be together. She dresses just like me.”

Hollywood superagent Ari Emanuel has essentially called for Ye to be blacklisted and urged major companies working with him to reconsider their deals, according to a Daily Mail report.

“Apple and Spotify, which host West’s music, whoever is organizing West’s tours, and Adidas, which is collaborating with West on his clothing line, should all stop collaborating with him,” Emanuel said.

Last week, the fashion house Balenciaga announced that it would cut ties with Ye.

Ye had collaborated in several areas with Balenciaga and his artistic director Demna Gvasalia. The label also has an active relationship with Kardashian, who has appeared in its ad campaigns and credits her former husband with introducing her to the brand.
