Welcome to NHL Training Camp 2022-23. Training camp for all 32 teams is underway and NHL.com will keep you up to date with the latest news.

Vancouver Canucks

Ilya Mikheyev is for the Canucks week in week out with a lower body injury.

The forward did not train on Tuesday after suffering an injury in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames in a preseason game on Sunday. Mikheyev had no shots on target in 7:31 ice time and went after 4:17 of the second half after being hit in the rink.

Mikheyev played in-line with the center Elias Petterson and wings Andrei Kuzmenko. He was replaced by a striker Nils Hoeglander.

Forward Conor garland with the center shifted to the top line J T Miller instead of Brock Badwho will be missing for 3-4 weeks after a hand operation on Monday. Kuzmenko moved to the top power play unit.

“Unless you have two of your top six guys, shuffle the lines a little,” said Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau. “When one guy goes down, another guy has to come up. If they’re good enough, they’ll make it difficult for anyone who comes back. That’s how I would see it if I were the player. What a great opportunity.” “

defender Travis Dermott was helped off the bench after leaving practice early Tuesday.

“He looked like he’d been hit there and just felt a little groggy and we … if you’re feeling a little groggy, just take the rest of the day off,” Boudreau said. “We don’t need anyone else to get hurt.”

New Jersey Devil

Nico Hischier was limited to 6:24 ice time due to cramps in Monday’s 2-1 preseason win at the Montreal Canadiens.

The Devils captain played nine shifts, all in the first period. According to trainer Lindy Ruff, the illness was not considered serious.

“Last night was more of a precaution,” said Ruff on Tuesday. “He’s going to have some tests today just to make sure everything’s fine. I had a really good chat with him which made me think he would play again in preseason but you never know where some of these things are going to go. “

Hischier centered the top line with the left wing Tomas Tatar and Jesper Brat on Monday. Jesper Boqvist, Tyce Thompson and Aarne Talvitie were the other three centers against the Canadiens.

Hischier, who had NHL career bests in goals (21), assists (39) and points (60) in 70 games last season, will not play when the Devils host the New York Islanders on Tuesday. — Mike G. Morreale

Minnesota Wild

Kirill Kapritsov did not practice Tuesday and will not play for the Wild in their preseason game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The striker was shot in the ankle by a teammate Frederick Gaudreau in the third period of a 3-2 overtime win over the Avalanche in a preseason game on Sunday. He hobbled to the bench and took over his next shift before leaving late and not going into overtime.

“No problems,” said Wild coach Dean Evason on Monday. “He won’t be skating today. He doesn’t have to skate today. But he’s fine. It’s just that he got shot in the foot there. Why put your shoe in today? .”

Kaprizov is evaluated daily to see if it makes sense to let him participate or keep him out.

“We’re going to make sure we’re doing the right things,” Evason said. “To be honest, I don’t think he’ll play again until the next home game.”

Pittsburgh penguins

Jeff Carter is day in and day out with an upper body injury for the penguins.

The forward was injured in the middle of a scrimmage on Saturday and did not return. Carter is expected to play in the third row behind in the middle Sydney Crosby and Yevgeny Malkin this season.

Kasper Kapanen had been right wing alongside Carter for the first three days of training camp. He missed the Tuesday morning skate session before the Penguins preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings at PPG Paints Arena because of an illness. Most Penguins regulars are meant to play.

Kapanen’s illness will not last, coach Mike Sullivan said.

“‘Kappy’ was supposed to play tonight but he’s not feeling well,” Sullivan said Tuesday. “So we stalled him.”

Carter had 45 points (19 goals, 26 assists) in 76 games last season. Kapanen has 32 points (11 goals, 21 assists) in 79 games.

Philadelphia Flyer

Carter Hart will not play for the Flyers in their preseason game against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday but has been cleared for practice.

The goalie did not train on Sunday due to a lower body injury but was a full participant on the ice on Tuesday and is expected to train on Wednesday. Monday was a day off for the Flyers.

Hart was absent from the last nine games last season with a lower body injury.

Edmonton oiler

Reid Schaeferthe Oilers’ #32 first-round pick in the 2022 NHL draft, returned to Seattle in the Western Hockey League.

The forward had no points and one shot on goal in two preseason games but was praised during his first NHL training camp.

“I think Reid Schaefer is going to be a really good Edmonton Oiler one day,” Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft said after a 3-0 loss at the Seattle Kraken on Monday. “He’s someone who obviously has some natural gifts. He’s a big man (6ft 3, 215lbs), shoots the puck very well, runs well for a big man, he’s in great shape. And he left a really positive impression on the management and coaching team and especially on his future teammates.

“He had a really good camp. There were some learning moments for him and that’s all part of going to your first NHL camp. I think he made a really good impression here.”
