Ever since Disney took over war of stars franchises had huge hits (The Force Awakens), box office flops (Solo: A Star Wars Story), mediocre series (Boba Fett’s book), and those projects that will probably even be purged from the databases of the Jedi Library on Coruscant – we’re looking at you, The Rise of Skywalker.

But an undeniable hit was The Mandalorianthe war of stars Spin-off series that helped launch Disney+ first of all.

Set after events of the original trilogy, the first two seasons of The Mandalorian has woven in war of stars Lore from all three film trilogies while still creating new and exciting characters to take the saga to brand new places.

Here’s everything you need to know about Season 3 of The Mandalorian.

When is The Mandalorian Season 3 coming to Disney+?

The Mandalorian Season 3 is coming Disney+ in February 2023.

Filming for the third season began in October 2021 and ended in late March 2022.

The first two seasons of The Mandalorian Both had eight episodes, so it’s probably reasonable to expect eight episodes this time around, too, although nothing has been confirmed.

A fourth season for The Mandalorian is in development but will not be released until 2024.

Is there a trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3?

Yes! Disney unveiled the first trailer for The Mandalorian Season three at his recent D23 fan event. And there will happily be another trailer before the series comes out next year.

What characters will appear in The Mandalorian Season 3?

Pedro Pascal will return as Din Djarin, a bounty hunter who was assimilated into the Mandalorian culture as a young man after his parents were murdered in the Clone Wars.

Grogu will also be back, which no doubt means more flogging of the cute Jedi Padawan merchandise at your nearest Disney Store.

Giancarlo Esposito will also be back – at least for a while – as the show’s main villain, the sinister Moff Gideon. “I have a feeling you’ll be seeing more of me next season. Most likely you’ll be seeing a lot of Moff Gideon,” the actor said Weekly entertainment.

Bounty hunters’ guild leader Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and scrappy mechanic Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris) will also return for Season 3. And as the trailer reveals, weapon master and The Mandalorian Way expert, the Weapon Master (Emily Swallow) is back to offer Mando some sage advice and even better weapons.

Exciting, Back to the Future Star Christopher Lloyd has also joined the cast in a mystery role. Great Scott!

The Mandalorian has become famous for featuring fan-favorite characters from throughout Star Wars history. The show previously brought back the likes of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka, Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze, Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett, and of course, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

During 2019 The Rise of Skywalker was divisive, at least it gave us Babu Frik, and the lovable droidsmith will have an appearance The Mandalorian‘s third run.

It’s yet to be confirmed if we’ll see the return of former slave-turned-sheriff Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) and veteran mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).

What is the story so far in The Mandalorian?

A lot has happened since then The Mandalorian Introduced to bounty hunter Din Djarin for the first time in 2019.

During the first season, viewers were given glimpses of Djarin’s backstory through flashbacks. We learned his family was murdered by Separatist droids during the Clone Wars, but Djarin was then assimilated into the Mandalorian culture and schooled in the ways of their cult.

Originally hired to capture Grogu – a child of the same species as Jedi Master Yoda – the Mandalorian instead protects him and becomes a father figure to him.

The pair are then drawn into a series of mostly standalone adventures as remnants of the fallen Galactic Empire attempt to capture Grogu in order to use his Force abilities.

At the end of The Mandalorian season two Din Djarin rescued Grogu from Moff Gideon’s cruiser, along with his allies Bo-Katan and their Mandalorian warriors. The rescue looked doomed until Jedi Master Luke Skywalker arrives to save the day.

Appeared in several episodes of spin-off series Boba Fett’s bookDjarin and Grogu were seen leaving Tatooine in their new N-1 Starfighter after fighting the Pyke Syndicate and helping Boba Fett free Mos Espa.

What happens in The Mandalorian season 3?

Aside from what we saw in the trailer, much of the plot is for The Mandalorian Season three remains unknown.

After Moff Gideon was captured at the end of season two, it remains to be seen whether he will be executed or imprisoned for his crimes. Perhaps he will escape and continue hunting Grogu, or perhaps he could turn to the light side of the Force.

Grogu has already turned down training in the Jedi Arts with Luke Skywalker, opting instead to reunite with Din Djarin, but that won’t stop his Force abilities from growing – will he be able to use his powers without the help of a to control Jedi teachers ?

Din Djarin is now the Darksaber’s owner, having defeated Moff Gideon, its previous owner, in battle. But that doesn’t please Bo-Katan, who believes the weapon should be hers as ruler of the Mandalore people. It’s almost certain that the battle for the Darksaber – and the ruler of Mandalore – is far from over.

What other Star Wars series are coming to Disney+?

When it comes to TV war of stars Fans are better fed than Jabba the Hutt on Christmas Day.

Current shows like Boba Fett’s book and Obi Wan Kenobi mixed fanservice with storylines that propelled the franchise into the future.

before The Mandalorian A return that would-be Jedi Knights can look forward to Villain One spin off Andora space espionage saga coming to Disney+ on September 21st.

2023 spin-off series Ahsoka will follow the former Jedi (Rosario Dawson) as she hunts down big blue villain Grand Admiral Thrawn and teenage heroine Ezra Bridger, so basically a live-action reunion from the animated film Star Wars: Rebels Series.
