Big Brother 24 Live Feeds: Brittany & Alyssa Try To Flip The Vote

Brittany and Alyssa on Big Brother 24
Written by adrina

I’ll start this discussion by saying I don’t think this plan will work and I don’t get two feet off the ground, but nothing like a messy flop of a flip attempt to entertain us in the waning weeks of Big Brother 24, so go ahead it’s okay

On Tuesday on the live feeds, Alyssa and Brittany pooled their strategic thoughts and began reviewing the upcoming landscape for the final house guests. Flashback to 3:15pm BBT 9/13 as Alyssa Brittany makes her pitch that all roads lead to Brittany’s eviction. She points out that Turner will protect Monte and Monte will protect Taylor, forcing Brittany to win until the finals.

Soon, Brittany starts rethinking this in her head and tells Alyssa that she formed an F3 with Monte and Taylor, but now she’s wondering if that can be trusted. Brittany also lets Alyssa know that Turner plans to vote her (A) out and will let her know the night before the eviction. Alyssa’s strategy is to threaten Turner that they can’t be friends outside the home if he votes her out…

Skip ahead a few hours to 6:10pm BBT and you have Brittany Camtalking. She is very frustrated at being left out of the night’s celebrations, thinking Monte, Taylor, and Turner celebrated their F3 alliance while she slept. Brittany gets angry and wonders if Taylor would really watch out for her in those final rounds.

Alyssa talks to Turner at 18:35 BBT and hatches her plan to secure Turner’s vote. It’s poorly executed. Alyssa asks for assurances that he will keep her, saying if anyone betrays her, they can’t be friends. Turner soon talks to Monte and tells him that Alyssa makes him feel bad about this vote. Turner asks Monte if he has an F2 with Taylor, but Monte assures him they had no such plans and Turner says he believes him. Turner shares that Alyssa also said he would lose her jury vote if she voted him out.

Brittany and Alyssa reunite and Alyssa announces that Turner promised to vote to keep her. Brittany decides that she will also vote to keep Alyssa, but Alyssa can’t tell anyone or it would ruin the plan. So here Brittany is hoping to sidestep the tiebreaker situation and piggyback on a possible pity vote from Turner to turn the vote around and keep Alyssa 2-0 over Taylor. It just won’t happen.

Even this morning, just after 6am BBT, Turner told Monte and Taylor that being threatened by Alyssa over his voice made him angry. He digs deep into this position. Even if he wanted them to say, “Ohh, it’s okay to give her a sympathy voice,” I don’t think he could shoot cleanly. And I really don’t think he wants to at this point.

Overall, the idea itself isn’t a bad one, but Alyssa went all-in with Turner on the aggressive route, rather than continuing her soft play, which suits her better. At this point, threatening Turner, he turned and ran in the other direction. Alyssa could have gone with a positive reinforcement, “give me a vote and you’ll secure my jury vote,” then Brittany would have played hard on voting Alyssa out to make Turner think it was safe, a pity vote to deliver. Now that Turner has traced this back to Monte and Taylor, I don’t see there being any way he could cleanly do this even if he wanted to.

This is also just chaotic for Brittany. She needs to be completely convinced that Taylor has left her out of future plans. Theoretically, Brittany could vote to keep Alyssa, Turner votes Alyssa out, and then Brittany, horrified, says Turner would vote against Taylor… But Brittany isn’t a very good actress and the other HGs won’t believe her. She’s going to lose Taylor’s trust and that’s it.

The whole thing is poorly executed and seems to fit the gameplay we’ve seen from both Brittany and Alyssa so far this season. Ah great. I don’t want Alyssa to stay over Taylor, but I welcome the chaos in the game and that would have done it. But it won’t happen!

Side notes: Taylor is playing a dangerous game right now with her last two nights hanging out with Monte in the HOH room. She’s on the block. If Turner finds out how escalated things have gotten for Monte + Taylor, he may want to reconsider options and vote Taylor out. If he eliminates Taylor, Monte wants to keep him instead of having to play second fiddle to Taylor for Monte. I’m not sure why Taylor couldn’t contain the situation until she’s no longer in immediate danger, but that’s her choice.

Then, as for Brittany, someone suggested that Brittany has nothing to lose, but I disagree. She has Taylor to lose. Sure, as mentioned above, Taylor might shift her priorities, but once Taylor finds out that Brittany tried to evict her, she’s definitely lost Taylor. Remember how fussy Taylor wanted to be during the London trip to see Alyssa? Taylor likes to make splashy moves for “good TV,” and I think she’d do it again here. Risky move, Brittany.
