GTA Vice City Definitive Edition’s infamous missions will be familiar to anyone who played the original game. Some of them are confusing, difficult, or otherwise exploitable. GTA Vice City Definitive Edition has introduced a few Quality of Life updates, but that only slightly mitigates some of the frustration factors.
This list is not put in any particular order as the main focus of this article is to highlight a few notorious missions. Some players will hate them while others will enjoy them for who they are.
Anyhow, there’s no denying that all five entries in the grand scheme of GTA Vice City Definitive Edition are incredibly iconic.
Five infamous missions in GTA Vice City Definitive Edition
1) Demolitionist
GTA Vice City Definitive Edition added 30 extra seconds to this mission, but many players still hate it. Free time is greatly appreciated, but doesn’t necessarily change the fact that Demolition Man:
- It is introduced very early in a playthrough
- Includes tricky helicopter controls
- Has a time limit
- Requires a lot of manoeuvring
Demolition Man’s Shame will undoubtedly make it one of the most iconic missions in the entire franchise. It’s worth noting that some people find the main quest to be fairly easy, but the average public opinion of Demolition Man is far from flattering.
2) The driver
The Driver features Tommy Vercetti who must beat Hilary King in a race for the latter to join the heist. Unfortunately everything done here is pointless as Hilary never drives during The Job and ends up being gunned down by SWAT members.
That doesn’t change the fact that players still need to complete The Driver in GTA Vice City Definitive Edition to unlock The Job, which in turn is necessary for the Malibu Club’s passive income.
In this mission, Tommy Vercetti takes on Hilary King’s Saber Turbo with a Sentinel. While the odds are against Tommy, experienced players should be able to win in the end.
3) Keep your friends close…
Any good finale in a Grand Theft Auto game is going to be unforgettable for one reason or another. In the case of GTA Vice City Definitive Edition, there are several aspects of Keep Your Friends Close… worth sharing here:
- Unlocking can be confusing for players who didn’t care about owning any assets before
- Lengthy with many dangerous targets
- It’s the finale of a memorable storyline
This climax isn’t nearly as hated as the previous two entries, so its disgrace compared to The Driver or Demolition Man isn’t for the wrong reasons. However, it’s a rare finale with a strange unlocking method.
It requires the Cap the Collector mission to be completed, which in turn requires the player to have seven assets fully completed, one of which is print work.
4) promotional tour
Publicity Tour is a mission full of funny dialogues and a simple task where Tommy Vercetti has to keep driving without stopping. If the player slows down too much, the Love Fist Limo will explode. Those who aren’t good at driving will understandably hate this mission, especially since they’ll hear the same dialogue over and over again.
Players who can easily complete the Publicity Tour in GTA Vice City Definitive Edition will remember it as a fun little diversion full of hilarious one-liners. Those struggling with this will often make use of fast restarts and get frustrated with them.
5) Kegel crazy
The shame of Cone Crazy comes from the fact that you can easily abuse this side mission to get millions of dollars without much effort. Basically, Tommy Vercetti gets double the amount of cash every time he completes Cone Crazy. However, he has to beat his time to get the extra money.
So some players of the GTA Vice City Definitive Edition just take their time for their first try. After that, they only have to shave a second or two off each subsequent attempt.
