Here are five technological things that have happened in the past week and how they are affecting your business. did you miss her
1 – Windows 11 introduces a new wave of features.
Microsoft is releasing new features for Windows 11 as part of its “continuous innovation” business model. Features introduced with Release Preview include a new nearby share option for devices, taskbar overflow, suggested actions, and file explorer. The first feature will roll out in October for Windows 11 users and in November for more users. (Source: ZDNet)
Why this is important to your business:
Did you know that Windows 11 has been out for a year now? Despite these new features, there are no compelling reasons for me – and my company – to force my employees to upgrade. Most of us use Windows 10 without any problems as long as Microsoft stays up to date with updated security versions. But as sure as death and taxes we will be in the Windows 11 world at some point. However, I wouldn’t worry about switching to Windows 11 until it’s time to swap out the hardware. Then you have no choice anyway.
2— Jotform Sign launches as a new, automated player in the e-signature space.
Leading SaaS solution for online forms Jotform recently launched a new e-signature product based on automation capabilities. The new product, called Jotform Sign, allows businesses to easily send documents with less setup time than traditional options. Jotform Sign uses automation features like helpful integrations, unlimited customization options, and advanced field recognition. (Source: PRNewsWire)
Why this is important to your business:
There are many players in the document signing space, but I like what Jotform offers for a number of reasons. For starters, it’s more affordable given the features it offers compared to its competitors. I like Jotform’s ease of use. I like how easy it is to set up custom forms with automation and integration with existing applications. There’s a reason so many of my clients are already using Jotform to collect data from their websites: it’s a very user-friendly platform that makes sense for many small businesses.
3 – A fired IT admin has shut down his former employer’s network with old credentials.
An IT systems administrator recently caused significant disruption to the operations of his former employer. The Hawaii-based financial company terminated Casey K. Umetsu’s contract in 2019 after he worked there for three years. Umetsu then used old credentials to access settings on the company’s website and make changes that caused disruption for several days. He said he did this to persuade the company to rehire him for a higher salary. (Source: Bleeping Computer)
Why this is important to your business:
Doesn’t this story surprise you? I was surprised. Who – in 2022 – is going to fire an employee, not least someone in the IT department – without taking the necessary steps to completely remove that employee’s access to systems? If you plan to fire someone, plan ahead and make sure the employee doesn’t have access to your information.
4 – Here are 19 advanced Google search operators you need to know.
Digital marketing and advertising technology website, Search Engine Land, recently highlighted 19 advanced Google search operators that will help business owners uncover meaningful insights to support marketing efforts. Why this is important to your business:
This is one of those articles that come in handy when you need to do a targeted search on Google and aren’t getting the results you want. Bookmark and share with your co-workers. I did.
