PUBG: Battlegrounds improves gunplay meta with update 20.1
Written by adrina

The next update for PUBG: Battlegrounds, including adjustments to gunplay, has been released by Krafton. Oddly enough, Patch 20.1 seems to bring a lot more changes to the game compared to the last update. However, many of these updates disrupt the mechanics and meta rather than adding new material.

Players will experience several adjustments as they get used to firing weapons in a certain way. Below are the team’s comments and a video showcasing the update.

firing from the vehicle

Using vehicles to fight enemies has great benefits (and a lot of fun). They can move much faster and find themselves able to hurl relatively steady shots at enemies running barefoot for their lives.

So we got a lot of feedback from players who faced big disadvantages on foot like: B. being bombarded by a horde of ammunition from moving vehicles and ending up dying too quickly.

Therefore, after much testing of in-vehicle recoil control and thinking about how to reduce these one-sided situations in a healthy direction, we decided to balance the vehicle gameplay based on your feedback as follows:

  • DRIVER’S SEAT
    • Handgun reloads are canceled immediately if the driver controls the vehicle’s steering wheel.
      • Therefore, players can only reload handguns when the vehicle is moving in one direction.
    • Increased in-vehicle handgun reload time by approximately 50%.
    • Handgun recoil has increased by approximately 20%.
      • This recoil update is for PC only.
  • PASSENGER SEATS
    • Weapon recoil increased by approximately 10%. (Total recoil: 10% → 20%)
      • This recoil update is for PC only.

Season 20 leaderboard

Start your new competitive endeavor among the best in Season 20 of the leaderboard!

  • The leaderboard will be reset after live server maintenance.
  • View your last level from the previous season on the careers page.

World and map updates

  • PUBG World Cup 2022: To celebrate this year’s PUBG Global Championship (PGC), esports items such as flags, billboards, and building decorations will be scattered throughout Erangel, Taego, and Miramar! Be sure to tune in to PGC 2022 starting November 1st.
  • Blue Zone: Since Blue Zone players seem to have been knocked out of the competition more often in Deston compared to other maps, the Blue Zone radius rate and start delay for the first phase has been increased. In the second phase, the radius and the damage magnifier per distance are increased. The Jammer Pack has also been adjusted for Miramar, Karakin, Haven, and Deston, increasing the damage dealt to the Jammer Pack by the Blue Zone.

The new update goes live on October 11th for PC and October 19th for consoles. For more information on the PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 20.1 clues, visit the game’s official page.
